Also, there are numerous deeds in Tyringham, Berkshire Co. Ma. which are probably for this Matthew 5 Dunham.

Also, data from a manuscript on file at the New England Historical and Genealogical Society in Boston, dated 1947-1957, and written by Gertrude Evengeline Dunham Miller, of Lake Bluff Illinois gives line of descent from Matthew Dunham. I believe that line is from this Matthew 5, son of Hezekiah 4 and Jane Pease. (dau. of Matthew Pease)

Apparently Gertrude Evangeline Miller Dunham was never able to trace the line any further back than Matthew Dunham. In 2002 Russell Howard Dunham participated in DNA analysis and it was learned that he was a direct descendant of Deacon John Dunham. Therefore, the search for the ancestors of Matthew, a proven ancestor of Russell Howard Dunham, has been renewed.

Research was done by Gratia Dunham Mahony in 2002. The research indicating the line of Matthew Dunham is based on circumstantial evidence.

4. Land Records provide circumstantial evidence that this was the Stephen Dunham who moved first to Hunterdon Co. NJ, and about 1790 moved to Fayette Co. PA. Records from that period in western Pennsylvania are either very poor or non-existent.

Carl Arthur 13 Dunham participated in DNA analysis which showed his line to be from Deacon John Dunham of Plymouth. Members of the Singletary/alias Dunham line were also living in both Fayette and Greene Counties in western Pennsylvania and separation of the descendents of these two lines has been very difficult.
