Carroll Dunham

 

BARRE - Carroll C. Dunham, 86, formerly of Pearl Street, died July 30, 2002, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

 

He was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Fair Haven, the son of Clinton D. and Martha E. (Cram) Dunham.

 

He attended schools in FairHaven and graduated from Williamstown High School in 1934.

 

Mr. Dunham served in the U.S. Army Air Force 535 Bombardment Squadron during World War I as an airplane and engine mechanic.

 

He married Violet Trombly in 1944 in Barre. She died in 1990.

 

He worked as a polisher at Peerless Granite Co. in Barre and for other Barre granite manufacturers.

 

He was a member of the Barre Congregational Church.

 

He enjoyed house painting, wallpapering, fishing and was an avid White Sox baseball fan.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Eileen DeForge of Springfield, Tenn., and Sheila Sanville of Ocala, Fla.; a sister, Hazel Rossi of Northfield; five

 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

He was predeceased by a son Raymond Lowery; five brothers, Paul Dunham, Lloyd Dunham, Ralph Dunham, Fordyce Dunham and Gerald Dunham, and three sisters, Ona Newton, Gladys Dunham and Edith Dunham.

 

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre.
