GILBERTSVILLE _ Carolee Ames Dunham, 17, of Gilbertsville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born in Sidney on April 3, 1990, the daughter of Jeff and Marna (Knicklebine) Dunham.
She was a senior at the Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School where she was a four-year member of the National Honor Society. She was very involved in sports at G-MU playing on the girls soccer team for seven years and the girls basketball teams for five years. She also was a member of the G-MU jazz, concert and marching bands for the past five years playing the trumpet. She had also participated in the G-MU Ski Club for several years. She was a member of this year's G-MU yearbook staff.
In her community, she was involved in Rotary International as an exchange student to Brazil for a year, returning this past June. She was also a member of the Junior American Legion Auxiliary (Post 1339) of Gilbertsville and attended the Presbyterian Church of Gilbertsville.
Her hobbies included traveling, playing sports, playing the trumpet and being with friends and family.
She is survived by her parents, Jeff and Marna Dunham, of Gilbertsville; a sister, Phylicia Dunham, of Gilbertsville; her maternal grandmother, Mary Knicklebine; and her paternal grandparents, Patricia and Clinton Dunham, all of Gilbertsville. She is also survived by her aunts, Rebecca deLaubell and Mark of Oneida, Becky Edgett and Mitch of Mount Upton; an uncle, Bill Knicklebine and Caren of Kansas; her cousins, Chad Edgett, Cory Edgett, Brandon Knicklebine, Cody Edgett, Nathan Edgett and Andrew deLaubell; and her extended family and some very special friends; and her dog, Mitcy.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, William R. Knicklebine.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at the Presbyterian Church in Gilbertsville with the Rev. Jane Faber and the Rev. Joseph Acanfora officiating.
