Edwin H. Dunham Jr. Edwin Hart Dunham Jr. of Kent died April 18, 2004, at his home. He was 92. Born May 23, 1911, in Forsyth, Mont., he lived in the South County area for 60 years. Mr. Dunham worked as a carpenter for 50 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Carpenters Union. He enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Dunham; and sons, Dickie and Ronnie Morgan. He is survived by his daughters, Louise Lea and Diane Hazen; brother, Alex Dunham; sister, Bertha McDougall; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Yahn & Son Funeral Home in Auburn. Reuben Erickson Reuben Erickson of Enumclaw died April 19, 2004, in Enumclaw. He was 85. Born Aug. 29, 1918, in Seattle, he lived in Enumclaw for 35 years. A logger and head tire man, he enjoyed hunting elk and moose, packing in on horses and camping in British Columbia. He raised German short-hairs as his bird hunting partners. He enjoyed baseball, especially the Mariners, and cutting and splitting firewood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine, on May 15, 2001; and a grandchild in 1999. He is survived by his son, Paul Erickson of Des Moines; daughters, Linda Grennan of Enumclaw and Lois Darby of Spokane; brother, Jim Erickson of Carson City, Nev.; sister, Mildred Barnhart of Enumclaw; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Enumclaw. Memorials may be made to the Enumclaw Aid Car, 1330 Wells St., Enumclaw, WA 98022. Arrangements are by Weeks' Enumclaw Funeral Home. Esta Seibert Finney Esta Seibert Finney of Bellevue died April 17, 2004, in Bellevue. She was 88. Mrs. Finney was born May 19, 1915, in Detroit, to Daniel and Lyna Krause Seibert. She was married to the late Burnett Finney. Mrs. Finney earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Wayne State University in Detroit and did doctoral work at Boston University. She was a school psychologist for the Bellevue Public Schools. Mrs. Finney was a singer who performed on live radio in Chicago during the 1930s. During World War II she worked for the American Red Cross helping to settle war brides in their new homes. She enjoyed knitting, travel and spending time at her cabin at the townsite of Monte Cristo. A private family service will be held. Remembrances may be made to The Humane Society, Bellevue chapter. Arrangements are by Bauer Funeral Chapel in Snohomish. Marilyn D. Higgins Marilyn Dean Higgins of Renton died April 20, 2004, in Kirkland. She was 60. Born Nov. 16, 1943, in Holt, Mo., she lived in Renton for 28 years. Mrs. Higgins worked as an optician at Group Health. She is survived by her husband, Dennis W. Higgins of Renton; sons, John Higgins of Auburn and Ryan Higgins of Whidbey Island; brother, Eric Hurt Jr. of Holt, Mo.; and sisters, Carolyn Bain of Kansas City, Mo., and Sally Villers of Kearney, Mo. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home in Renton. A service will be held at a later date in Holt, Mo. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 1900 N. Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98103. Robert Clayton `Bob' Ingersoll Robert Clayton ``Bob'' Ingersoll of Kirkland died April 16, 2004. He was 83. Mr. Ingersoll was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Minneapolis. He was a veteran of World War II of the Army Air Forces serving the European theater. He lived in Seattle from 1945 to 1955, then returned to Minneapolis. He was a tanker truck driver, both in Minnesota, working for Suburban Transport and after moving to Kirkland in 1971, for Lee & Estes Tank Lines in Seattle. He had a total of 32 years of safe, accident-free truck driving. He retired in 1983. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Lois, sons Frank Gassler of Mt. Vernon, Robert Ingersoll Jr. of Tulalip and David of Bothell; daughters Lynne Thompson of Burlington and Debra Miller of Lake Stevens; mother of his children Jeanne Ingersoll of Tulalip; stepdaughters Janis Bozarth of Woodinville and Leanne Spaulding of Kirkland; sisters Betty Smith of Priest River, Idaho, and Violet Elsberry of Everett; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Acacia Memorial Park, 14951 Bothell Way, Seattle. A memorial gathering for friends and family will follow. William W. Messer William Wayne Messer of Auburn died April 12, 2004, in Auburn. He was 57. Born Jan. 25, 1947, in Chicago, he served in the Air Force and lived in the South County area for 10 years. Mr. Messer was a practicing attorney in Auburn. He was involved in breeding and racing horses. He is survived by his fiancee, Doris Day of Auburn; son, Brett Messer of San Diego; daughters, Stephanie Messer of Shoreline and Amanda Sepulveda of Issaquah; and sister, Linda Phillips of Missouri. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Port Townsend Seventh-day Adventist Church. Burial will be at Soundview Cemetery at Morrowstone Island. Arrangements are by Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn. William E. Rice William ``Bill'' E. Rice of Enumclaw died April 19, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Seattle. He was 71. Born June 5, 1932, in Colfax, he married Joyce Germaine on Nov. 8, 1952, in Kennewick and lived in Covington for 17 years before moving to Enumclaw. Mr. Rice was the owner of Suburban Carpet and Archery, a flooring and archery sporting goods store. He was an installer and a handyman. He enjoyed telling stories, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, motorcycle riding and camping. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Rice of Enumclaw; sons, Bill Rice of Anchorage, Alaska, Terry Rice and Rob Rice, both of Enumclaw, Rick Rice of Kent, and James Rice of Auburn; daughter, Belinda Rice of Enumclaw; brother, Mike; sisters, Virginia and Mary; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel in Kent. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Tahoma National Cemetery in Maple Valley. Helen L. Stevahn Helen L. Stevahn of Enumclaw died April 19, 2004, in Enumclaw. She was 71. Born July 30, 1932, in Courtland, Calif., she married Andy Stevahn on July 16, 1955, in Sacramento, Calif. She lived in Auburn from 1972 to 1977, Enumclaw from 1977 to 1988 and from 2000 to 2004. Mrs. Stevahn worked as an accountant at several different companies. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and volunteered as a 4-H leader for many years. She enjoyed exploring ghost towns, rock hounding and genealogy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Stevahn, in February 1993. She is survived by her son, Andy Stevahn of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Vickie Lewis of Enumclaw; sister, Bernice Owre of Carmichael, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Arrangements are by Weeks' Enumclaw Funeral Home. Lorna Ileen Torgerson Lorna Ileen Torgerson of Port Angeles, formerly of Bellevue, died April 17, 2004, in Port Angeles. She was 80. Mrs. Torgerson was born Jan. 9, 1924, in Fortuna, N.D. to Rudolph Mantei and Mabel Florence Russell. She grew up and worked in retail in North Dakota and married Toralf Christian Torgerson on Aug. 1, 1942, in Plentywood, Mont. In 1960 she moved with her family to Bellevue where she continued to work in retail. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Retail Clerks Union. Mrs. Torgerson enjoyed gardening, collecting dolls, the Mariners and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1999. Survivors include her sons, Gerry Torgerson of Stanwood and Ron Torgerson of Renton; daughters P.J. Morrison of Port Angeles and Kris Harte of Duvall; brothers Rudy Mantei of Snohomish and Leonard Mantei of Woodinville; sisters Rodella Knutson of Bellevue, Ramona Thompson of Crosby, N.D., and Dolores Wehrman of Williston, N.D.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Tyler of Bellevue died April 18, 2004, in Bellevue. She was 95. Mrs. Tyler was born Dec. 17, 1908, in Seattle. She lived in Renton until 1936 when she moved to Kirkland with her son and husband, Frank Tyler. She was active in their business of trucking and grain and also ran a small dress shop with a friend. Mrs. Tyler was an accomplished artist and was one of 12 women who started the Art Stall in the Pike Place Market. She also volunteered making blankets for Children's Hospital for many years. She loved and enjoyed her grandchild and two great-granddaughters very much. Survivors include her son, Donald S. Tyler of Bellevue; sister Imogene Hougardy of Seattle; one grandchild; and two great-granddaughters. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Green's Bellevue Funeral Home.
