The intent of this section is to create a storage area for obituaries. The information is available to members wishing to access it.
In order to be most useful, we obviously need to obtain the obituaries. Anyone can send me obituaries. Quite often if the original is in an on-line newspaper there will be an ability at the bottom of the obituary to e-mail it. I have established an e-mail box to receive such items. It is obituaries@pcdunham.net
If the obituary is in a .pdf file, it can be forwarded. Obituaries from earlier times can be e-mailed to the same box in text format of some type (such as WORD). The obituary information should at a minimum indicate the publication containing the obituary and its the date and place of publication, if known.
I will place the obituaries by surname groups on the web site in alphabetical order with a link to the containing file. If the files become large, I may create a searchable data base to contain the basic information.
I welcome any suggestions for handling this material and would welcome any assistance in doing so.
